Six Puppies Escaped a Wildfire - Now They Need You

Let's finish what the Devil's Garden crew started. Help us cover vet care for six rescued puppies

They were found in the middle of an active wildfire.

While battling the 3-1 Pit Fire, a CAL FIRE Devil's Garden crew came across six puppies alone in the fire area. The crew got them to safety, handed them off to a Lassen County Sheriff's deputy on scene, and together they made sure these pups reached Lassen County Animal Shelter and now, into our care at High Sierra Animal Rescue in Portola, CA.

Six tiny survivors with zero hesitation from the heroes who found them.

Now it's our turn to finish the job. Every one of these puppies needs a full vet check, vaccines, and a spay or neuter surgery. With six of them at once, that adds up fast.

We've already had people reaching out asking to adopt, which tells us these pups won't be waiting long once they're ready. What they need right now is help covering the cost of getting them there.

Smokey, Ember, Flint, Ranger, Kindle, and Coal won't be ready for adoption until they've had all of their vaccines, in about 3-4 weeks. You are welcome to fill out our online application in the meantime at highsierraanimalrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Any amount helps. Donate online at highsierraanimalrescue.org or check out our Chewy wishlist if you'd rather send supplies. We are especially in need of adult salmon dog food at the moment and always training treats to help get our dogs ready for their forever homes.
