Lolly's Fight Against Heartworm
Support this loving dog throughout her life saving treatment
Help Lolly the Sweet Lab Recover! Foster or Donate Today!
Lolly is a playful and loving 2-year-old black Lab with a heart of gold. This darling girl recently received a heartworm diagnosis, a treatable condition spread by mosquitoes. Thankfully, Lolly has a fantastic prognosis! With the right care, she can make a full recovery and live a long, happy life.
What Lolly Needs:
A Temporary Foster Home or a Forever Home: Lolly requires a loving and patient home for the next 4-6 months while she undergoes treatment. This time can be split between different foster homes.
A Low-Stress Environment: During this period, Lolly needs a low-energy lifestyle with minimal physical activity (no running, jumping, or intense playtime).
A Quiet and Calm Home: A peaceful environment will help Lolly rest and recover.
High Sierra Animal Rescue will provide all supplies for Lolly, including food, medications, veterinary visits, bedding, and more. There is no financial responsibility for fosters.
Lolly is not contagious to other dogs, but for her recovery, it might be best if she's not in a home with highly playful dogs. We can consider case-by-case situations for calmer dogs who will allow her to rest and recover.
Lolly's Treatment:
Lolly's treatment plan will include antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, heartworm preventative (HWP), and other medications. She will need monthly checkups with a veterinarian in Reno. We'll help coordinate transportation with her foster family.
Why Foster Lolly?
By fostering Lolly, you'll be giving a deserving dog a second chance at a happy and healthy life. You will be providing her with the essential care she needs to recover and find her forever home. It would mean so much to us to help save this dog’s life but we truly cannot do it without the help of foster parents.
