For the dogs and their people
Each year High Sierra Animal Rescue (HSAR) participates in the wonderful tradition of Giving Tuesday. It is the most important fundraising day of the year for nonprofits across the world. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.
This November 29th, HSAR hopes you will join us in raising $20,500.00. All of the funds raised will go toward developing a brand new Spay and Neuter Certificate Program for Plumas County residents. Additionally, all donations will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $20,500.00. This matching donation was gifted to HSAR by a caring supporter and adopter, John Sutko. John loved his HSAR dog Jake and wished to make a difference for more dogs like her. We are very grateful for John and his family for making this possible. Another matching donation of $2,500 was gifted to HSAR and we have now extended our original goal of $18,000 to $20,500. We are so thankful!
We would love to provide our community with as many spay and neuter certificates as possible. Shelters and rescues around the country are struggling to keep up with the number of animals in their care, and Plumas County is no exception. We know that spay and neutering is the answer to reducing the number of abandoned, neglected, and homeless dogs in our county. And we know that it is the only way that our county will remain no-kill. Please join the celebration of Giving Tuesday on November 29th with a one-time or recurring donation to HSAR. We are so thankful for the opportunity to be here for the dogs we cherish and hope to make an even greater difference with this new program. We simply could not do this without the help of our supporters.

Sabrina (pictured) was just eight months old when she gave birth to our most recent litter. We hope to drastically reduce the likelihood of that happening to another puppy in our community.
Sabrina and her puppies will be available for adoption once the puppies are weaned and have received age-appropriate vaccinations.
